Don't Forget the Archives, Dukes Fans!

The other day I reduced the number of blog entries that appear on the main page here at The Dukes of Hazzard Movie News.

I thought the page was just getting too long and might be slow to load for some of my visitors.

But today I noticed that it doesn't look like there is nearly as much good information here as there really is! There are tons of archived posts about the Dukes of Hazzard and all the movies' stars, etc.

If you look under the Amazon ads on the right side of the page, you'll see the links to the archived posts. They are all separated by dates.

If you just happened to stumble on to the main page here, but are looking for more Dukes of Hazzard info, check into the archives!

And, since I mentioned it, feel free to look at some of the Dukes of Hazzard-related stuff in the Amazon ads. There are some good deals on some good stuff there.

Anyway, don't forget the archives!

Kids' Site Talks About Jessica Simpson Daisy Duke Workout

For those of you curious about Jessica Simpson's Daisy exercise / workout regime, I found a little snippet at Kids' World (of all places) talking about it.

Sort of interesting, because the article focuses on Jessica's butt, basically. Not the kind of material you'd expect to find at a kids' site. Nonetheless, here's the scoop:

While getting into shape for the Dukes of Hazzard, Jessica allegedly embarked on a workout plan that involved two hours of squats and lunges every day.

This plan was implemented because, in Jessica's words, "I have a white-girl bootie, so I'm doing all my squats to lift it a little bit and get some junk in my trunk."

The article also features an obligatory "Jessica is dumb" joke, which really wasn't necessary. Here it is:

Nice Little Plot Synopsis for The Dukes of Hazzard Movie

Found at MTV's site:

MTV.com - Movies - The Dukes of Hazzard: "The General Lee is back and so are the Duke boys in this big-screen adaptation of the hit TV series, brought to you by Jay Chandrasekhar of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe. Set in the 'present day,' the story follows Bo (Seann William Scott) and Luke (Johnny Knoxville) as they cruise around Hazzard County and wreck havoc in their classic 1969 Dodge Charger. Together with their scantily clad cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson) and moonshining Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), the two good old boys battle the corrupt county commissioner Boss Hog (Burt Reynolds) when he and local Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane (M.C. Gainey) threaten to take away the family farm. John O'Brien and Jonathan Davis penned the first draft of the film with additional rewrites handled by the Broken Lizard gang. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide "

Jessica Simpson Daisy Duke Diet Probably Wasn't Atkins

Well, in my search for some info for all of you interested in the Jessica Simpson Daisy Duke diet, I did find this little nugget.

Whatever Jessica did to get into Dukes of Hazzard shape, it probably wasn't the Atkins diet. Once upon a time Jessica tried the almost-n-carb diet plan and didn't like it a bit.

"Atkins really messed me up mentally," she said. She reported binging on carbs. This was reported in Self magazine at one point, where Jessica also said her diet consisted of eating carbs in moderation with lots of salad.

She probably made some adjustments to get into Daisy Duke shape, but based on the snippet I read, I am pretty sure Jessica Simpson did not follow a "low carb lifestyle."

Quiz Reveals Your Inner Duke

Well, this is not really related to the new Dukes of Hazard movie directly, but it was sort of fun so I thought it was worth a mention.

You know those internet quizzes where you answer a few questions and it tells you who/what your most resemble? Well, I found one for the Dukes of Hazzard.

It's a quick little quiz and it gives you a photo and brief description of the character you are most like. It also provides you with the HTML code you'd need to stick the results on your web page.

I grabbed my results (yes, I did end up being Daisy Duke and not Boss Hogg, thank you!) and am thinking about trying to incorporate them on this page...

[EDIT] I went ahead and added my quiz result to the bottom of this blog's main page.

Anyway, the quiz is here:

Jessica Simpson: The Daisy Duke Diet and Exercise Plan Hot Topic

I was checking the statistics for this site, and noticed a lot of folks are stopping by not just for info on the new Dukes of Hazzard movie, but for the inside scoop on how Jessica got her new Daisy Duke physique. Lots of the searches bringing people here are focused on just how Jessica firmed up for her skimpy costumes and short-shorts.

I knew when I started this Dukes blog that many people would be coming because Jessica Simpson is a hot celebrity and that they would probably be more interested in her squeezing into tiny shorts than the movie itself. So, I decided to try to cater to that audience as well as the movie fan audience. That's why you'll notice I provide as many links as I can to photos and videos of Jessica as Daisy Duke.

But Jessica Simpson diet and exercise thing sort of caught me by surprise. I did a post about her upcoming exercise video and the controversy about the workout and everything. I also had a post or two that mentioned a little bit about how she got into shape to play Daisy Duke. But I never planned on spending a lot of time with this site detailing Jessica Simpson's diet and workout regime (or is that regimen? I always get confused on that one...).

So, I decided to check and see what I could find out about Jessica's diet plan. Turns out, there isn't a ton of good information available, which is probably why people are stopping by here in search of diet tips, as well as Dukes of Hazzard news and gossip!

What's a blogger to do? I can either disappoint those who wanna know all about what Jessica did and did not eat and what kind of exercises she did or I can spend some extra blogspace digging up details on her diet plan.

I sort of compromised once already, by making sure I always add any new links to pictures of Daisy Duke that I can find. Why not compromise a little bit more and try to become the top information source for the Jessica Simpson Daisy Duke diet and workout regime, right?

So be it. Until surfers start to lose interest in the diet and exercise thing, I will be providing any info I can find on the subject. And, yes boys, I will continue to provide links to Daisy Duke pictures and video.

However, I ask one small favor in return. If you came here to find Daisy Duke photos or Jessica Simpson diet hints, please consider spending a few extra minutes looking around and investigating the Dukes of Hazzard movie, too. Even if your real interests are in Jessica's body (true for both photo-seekers and those interested in her workouts), you might surprise yourself and develop a little interest in the upcoming movie, too.

Thanks! And be on the lookout for tons more great Dukes of Hazzard movie news and information...as well as Daisy Duke diet info and all the photo links you need.

Dukes of Hazzard Movie Video Clip Available!

Well, the trailer still hasn't been released, but Extra did a piece of Jessica Simpson's improved figure and the Dukes of Hazzard movie.

The video clip features a brief interview with Daisy Duke and video footage from the set. Of course, that means live-actions looks at Jessica walking around in those short short daisy duke shorts and talking about her new hard body.

Check it out!

Jessica Simpson to Use Dukes of Hazzard Experience to Push Exercise Program

In order to play Daisy Duke, Jessica Simpson had to get "in the best shape of her life." The skimpy costumes used in the Dukes of Hazard, including "full on bikinis" compelled her to undertake a series exercise regime.

During shooting, Jessica worked out six days a week for over two hours per day!

So, aside from exciting Dukes of Hazzard fans as she models Daisy Dukes shorts, what else is Jessica Simpson going to do with her super-toned physique?

"I'm definitely going to be doing a workout video," she says.

My guess is that her excercise video remark referred to the upcoming video that is the subject of controversy. Jessica decided to implement some of what she learned during her work as Daisy Duke from a Hollywood fitness guru into the video, and the company she was working with apparently didn't like the changes.

The changes to Jessica, however, have everyone happy! "[M]y husband is in heaven," she said. And even Johnny Knoxville, who has poked fun at the size of Jessica's backside, concedes "she looks great in those daisy dukes."

This is a Jessica Simpson fansite that has an ungodly number of photos of the starlet. I mean tons and tons of pictures. Including at least a handful of shots taken on the Dukes of Hazzard set.

See Jessica wearing a purple robe because it's chilly outside and the Daisy Duke costume was too skimpy. See her walking around the set. See her joined by her hubby, Nick Lachey. You get the idea...

And those are just the ones I found right away. I bet you could find even more behind the scenes Jessica Simpson pictures if you dug through this site's archives a little bit more.

Oregon State Paper Pro Willie and Jessica Duet

The Oregon State University newspaper recently gave a "thumbs up" to the proposed recording of a Willie Nelson / Jessica Simpson duet.

In a humorous "Yea/Nay" column, the autor backs the planned duet...and manages to sneak in a Jessica Simpson "chicken of the sea" / Willie Nelson is a pothead joke.

New Charger to be Released in Tandem with Dukes of Hazzard

Dodge has created a new Charger--most famous for serving as the General Lee in the original Dukes tv show. The new car, a four-door, is attracting a lot of attention--and a lot of criticism from purists who love the original Charger.

It seems as though Dodge is hoping to get a bump in interest about the new Charger by putting it out for sale about the same time the new movie comes out.

Jessica's New Record and Dukes Movie to be Released at Same Time

According to MTV, Jessica Simpson plans on releasing her next record on June 24, the same date The Dukes of Hazzard Movie will open.

Jessica is also recording tunes for the Dukes of Hazzard soundtrack. A Jessica-only single has already been recorded, and a duet with co-star Willie Nelson is still planned. "I haven't done that yet, but we will be doing something," Jessica said regarding the Nelson-Simpson duet.

Business Students Long for Daisy Duke, Imitate Uncle Jesse

The student paper at the NYU School of Business has a tongue-in-cheek "gossip" column that mentioned the Dukes of Hazzard today.

The author longs for the new Dukes of Hazzard movie to inspire "all womankind" to don Daisy Duke shorts ("what a beautiful sight," he states).

The article also accuses some Stern business school MBA students of imitating the look of Uncle Jesse Duke. Apparently beards and loose-fitting overalls are currently a popular look for some of tomorrow's big CEO's.

Jessica Simpson Picture--Daisy Duke in Vest, Low-rise Jeans, Yellow Bra

Yes, it is another picture of Ms. Daisy. Seems like I am linking so many of these lately... But I don't believe this one has made an appearance yet at The Dukes of Hazzard Movie News.

Proceed at your own risk. The page where I found this picture is chock-full of naughty-naughty adult ads. If you are easily offended, you might want to by-pass it.

Dukes of Hazzard Movie Boycott Discussed

Among the threads at hazzardnet.com's forum is one populated by fans of the original Dukes of Hazzard series considering a boycott of the new movie.

Why? Some are offended (ala Ben "Cooter" Jones) that the original cast wasn't consulted. Others are just sure that nothing can replace those original "good ol' boys" and that any sequel is a horrible black eye to the Dukes' legacy. Some are apparently offended that the confederate flag on the General Lee may be the butt of a joke in the film.

I have my doubts that any boycott could be successful, but at least a few people seem to back the idea. You can read their histrionics here:

Dukes of Hazzard Parodied in Stop-Motion Animation Show

The Cartoon Network has a new show called Robot Chicken, which features a lot of stop-motion animation using toy action figures.

Among the many odd things they unveiled in the premiere was the cast of Diff'rent Strokes and The Dukes of Hazzard in ways you've never seen them before."

I am assuming this was all done with action figures from the original series.

Odd stuff, Robot Chicken...

Dukes of Hazzard Driver Racing in Mexico

The Busch series had a race scheduled for yesterday (Sunday) in Mexico. Among the participating drivers was Stanton Barrett, who is well-known in Hollywood circles for his professional stunt driving.

"An award-winning stunt man from Hollywood, Barrett has appeared in well over 100 movies - including the soon-to-be-released Dukes Of Hazzard, Spiderman II and others - as well as hundreds of television shows and commercials.
Barrett, who is also running some NASCAR Nextel Cup Series events again this season, has been driving since he was 16 years old..."

Hope he did well!
